Courage.
Taking the first step is always the hardest. You are so brave to reach out and start on the journey of healing.
If you decide to go on this journey, here is a little about what you can expect while working with me.
What happens next?
First, we will coordinate a time for our consultation call to ensure we are a good fit to work together. I like to ask “why now” about your timing for reaching as well as asking about your goals for therapy.
At our first session we will explore what is keeping you stuck and what change means to you. You will help me understand your relationships and what is working for you and what you would like to experience differently.
Our journey through therapy is collaborative.
We build trust with one another as we start to understand your longings and hopes for your life and make sense of your past hurts so that you can have the connection you want in the present.
Therapy is a process of learning more about yourself and understanding why you do what you do. With this understanding you can make adjustments and choose what fits for you in the present.
It takes work. It takes time. And you are so worth it! Investing in yourself also enriches your relationships with others.
What do I use to help you make the transformation happen?
My approach in therapy is attachment based, and I use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) to help create lasting emotional closeness and connection to self and others. I also use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help resolve past traumas. Both therapies have empirical research to support their effectiveness in treatment.
My goal is to support you on this journey and help you get the results you desire.
Wondering whether now is the right time for therapy?
Are you willing to be curious? To understand yourself and others better? This journey will be worth your investment of time and money.
If your time is now, then I am ready to walk this out with you.
How I got started in therapy…
I went through a difficult time myself and found life to be overwhelming. I had never experienced so much grief and found myself reaching out to a therapist to help guide me. Through that process I found healing, restoration, and a career helping others on their journey.
