Typical sessions are 50 minutes in length. We also offer 90 minute and two hour sessions for couples or those clients engaging in EMDR if they are a good fit for a longer session. We can discuss and tailor our approach to best fit your needs.

Session fees range from $60 (if scheduling with a master’s level intern who is completing graduate school) to $105 (if scheduling with a clinician who has completed graduate school and is under supervision). Fully licensed providers fee is $150 for 50 minute sessions.

We are considered "Out-Of-Network" providers, which means we do not accept any insurance directly. We’ve made the decision to work directly with my clients regarding payment, and they are very satisfied with this arrangement.
If you would still like to use your insurance, then you can potentially do so if your insurance plan has “Out-Of-Network” benefits. The way that would work is, you would pay for therapy at the time of the session, and then we will provide you with a “superbill” that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement. *This option is for fully licensed clinicians.
We would recommend calling your insurance company to confirm if your insurance policy has OON benefits for mental health services.
Otherwise you can choose to see us privately and not involve your insurance at all. See why most of our clients choose this option below.
-
Most of our clients prefer to work with us privately and not involve their insurance at all. This is because in order to use your insurance for counseling, a mental health diagnosis is required, and this gets attached to your record. If your challenges don’t meet the threshold of a diagnosis, then insurance companies can choose not to cover your therapy.
• Insurance can put limitations on the number of counseling sessions you can have, prior to truly completing the process.
• An insurance company has a right to call the therapist and ask how sessions are going
• At any point they can say that therapy is no longer medically necessary and cancel the coverage
If you have more questions about this, or have questions about finding your OON benefits and would like to discuss, then we recommend reaching out to us on the contact page and We’d be happy to answer any questions.
-
You can contact us via the website or you may call us at 615.900.4008 to set up a consultation call to determine if we are a good fit to work together.
-
Once an appointment is booked we require a 24 hour notice to cancel without penalty. If you cancel within 24 hours of the appointment you will incur the full charge. Our clients are set up to receive automatic text notifications 48 hours in advance of the appointment. You have the option to turn this feature off but we don’t recommend it! To cancel a session you need to contact your therapist to notify them. They will let you know the best way to reach out! Please do not respond to the automated text reminder to cancel as we do not get those messages.
-
Our intake forms are sent electronically via email. You will be invited to our secure client portal where there is a short questionnaire and a form asking for demographic information. Each page asks for an electronic signature and most people complete the process in less than ten minutes.
-
In the first session both you and your therapist will meet to decide if working together is the best option for you. Your therapist will be asking what is bringing you into counseling and seeking additional information about your intake form in order to recommend the best course of treatment. We are wanting to hear and understand your story and start to determine your treatment goals.
-
Our therapists are qualified to work with individual adults, adolescents, couples, and families. We are best suited for those ages12 and up. We seek to offer a safe space for all ages, sizes, genders, affectional orientation, and ethnicities.
-
We want to understand your story and your life challenges, hopes, and dreams. We work collaboratively with you for an effective course of treatment. We see you in the context of your relationships and from a non-pathological lens. We use a strengths based approach. Our approaches are rooted in evidence based models such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Polyvagal Theory, and mindfulness.
-
This is difficult to determine as it varies for each client. Some clients are experiencing transitional challenges (divorce, move, job change, childbirth, etc) and may report less anxiety, depression, or relational challenges after several sessions. For those who have experienced complex traumas or difficult long term relationships the time in therapy will likely be longer.
-
We like to think of it as “life practice” and may suggest you practice resources or skills between sessions. We understand that we all learn differently and some of us want a clear plan for what to do between sessions. Some of us are so overwhelmed and asking you to complete homework would be too much. We want feedback from you about what works best for you.
-
There is no one size fits all approach as we all have unique needs and goals. It is beneficial to meet more frequently in the beginning so we like to suggest weekly or bi-weekly sessions early on. Due to differing circumstances we build a plan to best fit your needs. We offer some intensives which allow you to have longer appointment times (90 minutes to four hours) either weekly, for several days in a row, or monthly.
