Courage.
“Courage is the willingness to stand up and be seen.” Brene Brown
I welcome you in your path to self discovery and healing. I understand that this decision can be very difficult, but I am committed to your best interests. It is my privilege to walk beside you.
I am a strengths-based, client centered clinician who understands that each client is unique. I tailor each session to meet each person’s personality and needs. I am my authentic self in the counseling room. This means that I will bring in my sense of humor, openness, empathy, and compassion to the session. I am passionate about healing, and I welcome all forms of diversity.
If you decide to go on this journey, here is a little about what you can expect while working with me.
What’s next?
We will explore your readiness for counseling and in our first sessions we will discuss areas in your life which may not be working for you and what change looks like for you. You will teach me about your life, experiences, and challenges that you would like to experience differently.
Therapy is a collaborative process.
Therapy is a collaborative process where we work together to determine your core values and goals. We will build a relationship of trust and commitment where you can feel safe in exploring past hurts so you can learn to be fully present in the here and now. Through the therapeutic process you can expect to gain a better understanding of yourself and the patterns that prevent you from living your best life.
How can I assist you in change?
As we go through the process of therapy we will utilize your strengths to work through the familiar patterns of the past, and I will support you with the new tools that you can take into your life and put into practice. I draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Attachment Theory all of which are empirically researched and evidence based practices. My goal is to assist you in achieving the results that you desire!
How do you know if you are ready?
Is there a longing to have a better relationship with yourself and others? Are you curious about how life circumstances are playing out and how you can be better equipped to manage stressors? Do you need to let go of the past and be more in control of your emotions rather than your emotions controlling you?
If you can relate to any of these ideas, then therapy can be worth the investment in yourself.
How I got started in therapy…
I knew from a young age that I was going to be a therapist. However, I had to go through many painful challenges to prepare myself for this position. This practice is not a job to me, it is my passion and my purpose, and I welcome you to engage with me on your journey to wholeness.
My education and experience
Masters of Psychology and Marriage and Family Therapy, Brandman University, Irvine, California
4.5 years working and training in trauma, crisis intervention, and working with individuals with high levels of need

What I do outside of therapy?
I am a new resident to Tennessee, and I am truly blessed to live here. I am married to my best friend, and my husband and I have three very spoiled pets. Our children are adults now and live outside of our home. In my spare time I love working in the garden and doing home improvement projects including interior and exterior design. I love traveling through the south and east coast, seeing new places, and meeting new people.
The first step to healing
It takes great courage to be willing to be seen. Whether you choose me or another therapist, I am so excited that you are here. You are seeking a path of knowing yourself to be greater than you realize, and you are worth it!
